RATHGAR HOCKEY CLUB SEEK MEN’S FIRST XI COACH

The role will comprise of the following duties:

  • To produce and implement a well-structured and progressive coaching programme to meet the needs of players
  • The preparation, organisation and execution of training sessions from 7-9pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • To attend matches on Saturdays (and sometimes Sundays, depending on the competition)
  • To be a positive role model, creating a positive and enjoyable environment in which to motivate players and encourage participation
  • To develop players’ skills to compete at the highest level
  • Being responsible for team selection

 

Potential candidates should have the following skills:

  • Ability to develop and implement high quality, varied and creative coaching sessions, focusing on player skill development and creating tactical awareness
  • Ability to communicate in a highly effective manner with players and have excellent team-building skills
  • Ability to organise with attention to detail and in an efficient manner
  • Ability to instruct and lead players
  • Ability to motivate players to perform to the best of their ability

 

Previous coaching experience and a minimum IHA Level One coaching qualification would be an advantage. Rathgar Hockey Club will also consider the option of a player/coach if the applicant is interested in such a position.

Come to watch the Green Army in the

Women’s Hockey World Cup Quarter Finals!

Rather Hockey Club are excited to host a night in the Bank Bar, Dropping Well to watch the Green Army in the Women’s Hockey World Cup. All hockey players and non hockey players are welcome!

Push back is at 8:15 pm, but all are welcome to come for some pre match drinks from 7pm!

This is an open event –  we would love to see as many men and women from all hockey clubs down on the night. In particular we strongly welcome people new to the sport or invested in seeing the Green Army’s skills for the first time!

Rathgar HC seeking Division 1 Ladies Coach for the 18/19 season – check it out!

The role will comprise of the following duties:

  •   The preparation, organisation and execution of training sessions from 7.00 – 8.45pm on Mondays and Wednesdays
  •   appropriately planning for and determining game strategy while also attending matches on Saturdays (with occasional Sunday and midweek matches) throughout the season.
  •   Liaising with relevant members of the club committee other Coaches and Team Managers as required
  •   To be a positive role model, creating a positive and enjoyable environment in which to motivate players and encourage participation
  •   To develop players’ skills to compete at the highest level
  •   Being responsible for team selection
  •   Conducting trials of prospective team members during pre-season

Potential candidates should have the following skills:

  •   Ability to develop and implement high quality, varied and creative coaching sessions, focusing on player skill development and creating tactical awareness
  •   Strong interpersonal skills enabling confident communication with players of varying ages with the ability to understand personality differences and manage them appropriately.
  •   Good leadership skills with an ability to motivate individuals and create a team ethos with commitment and hard work from the players.
  •   Ability to organise with attention to detail and in an efficient manner
  •   Good observational and analytical skills
  •   Possess knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.

 For the 2018/2019 season Rathgar are targeting a top 5 finish in Division 1.

 Suitable candidates:

  • Should possess a Level One Hockey Coaching qualification or equivalent coaching experience
  •   Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
  •   Ability to manage and resolve conflict efficiently and effectively.
  • Are subject to Garda Vetting and will be required to agree to the LHA Code of Conduct for Sports Leaders and have  completed a code of ethics course

Pre Season Training Dates

For any current or new club members wishing to trial for the RHC Ladies 1 team, pre season training has started and is on Monday and Wednesday evenings. For all other teams, pre season training starts on the 16th August.

Goalies needed 2017/2018 season

We are seeking goalies for the upcoming 2017/2018 season so please get in touch as soon as possible if you are interested.

Ladies training takes place Monday and Wednesday evenings from 19:00-20:45.

Ladies 4s Coach needed for 2017/2018 season

Rathgar Hockey Club are seeking a Ladies’ 4th team (Div. 11) Coach for the upcoming 2017/2018 season.

The role will comprise of the following duties:

  • To produce and implement a well-structured and progressive coaching programme to meet the needs of players
  • The preparation, organisation and execution of training sessions from 7-9pm on Mondays and Wednesdays
  • To appropriately plan for and attend matches on Saturdays (with occasional Sunday and midweek matches) throughout the season.
  • To be a positive role model, creating a positive and enjoyable environment in which to motivate players and encourage participation
  • To develop players’ skills to compete at Division 10 and above.
  • Being responsible for team selection
  • To develop and integrate young players into the senior squad
  • Liaising with relevant members of the club committee other Coaches and Team Managers as required

 

Potential candidates should have the following skills:

  • Ability to develop and implement high quality, varied and creative coaching sessions, focusing on player skill development and creating tactical awareness
  • Ability to communicate in a highly effective manner with players and have excellent team-building skills
  • Ability to organise with attention to detail and in an efficient manner
  • Ability to instruct and lead players
  • Ability to motivate players to perform to the best of their ability
  • Ability to manage a squad with potentially different abilities

For the 2017/2018 season Rathgar are targeting a top 2 finish for our 4’s in order to be promoted to Division 10.

 

Suitable candidates:

  • Should ideally possess a Level One Hockey Coaching qualification or relevant coaching experience
  • are subject to Garda Vetting and will be required to agree to the LHA Code of Conduct for Sports Leaders and complete a code of ethics course
